Adaptability is a powerful trait.

No matter where you plunk a group of people, they set up shop and make the best of the situation. Whether it’s snow, heat, or even an entirely new planet, we somehow make it work.

We often apply the same can-do attitude to how we do our jobs here at Kris-Tech. When someone calls out, a project requires more hands, or a new product is rolling through the line, people step up to make sure the project is successful.

August’s Employee of the Month is the epitome of adaptability, going above and beyond their usual daily job duties to get things done. Their ability to learn and grow, lead by example, and commit to excellence has led to many shout-outs from their co-workers and more growth opportunities.

Their dedication to getting stuff done, always improving, and finding new ways to make a difference not only makes them a valuable contributor but earns them the title of Employee of the Month.

We’re excited to announce that this month’s winner is Extrusion Operator Nathan Brown!

Navigating Change

Working on the production floor demands constant attention to detail, but Nathan always keeps his head on a swivel.

“Nathan was hired as a Tray Cable operator but was later assigned to help wrap skids on the dock to prepare them for our customers,” Director of Special Projects Roger Frye said. “This is no easy task as the dock is our last line of defense for ensuring order accuracy, product quality, and on-time delivery! He is now working nights to fill gaps with Extrusion operators and getting after it on that line.”

From seamlessly working with multiple teams and departments daily to stepping in to keep lines running smoothly, Nathan is seemingly everywhere.

“His ability to adapt and lead has allowed him to work in Tray Cable, on the dock, and now in Extrusion,” Frye explained. “He keeps himself busy. It’s not uncommon to see him sweeping the floor, moving items into storage, or working on the line. From filling in for a call-in to running the full department when circumstances arose, Nathan demonstrates the value of Winning Together.”

Fostering Great Relationships

Adaptability does more than make someone good at multiple things – it makes them a valuable part of any team.

Nathan’s ability to lead by example helps him build deeper, stronger relationships with others. It also gives him more tools to support those around him, improving operations across the board.

“Over the past several weeks, Nathan has been shouted out by multiple individuals for meeting customers’ expectations with quality, helping the team hit on-time delivery goals, for completeness and accuracy of paperwork, and for keeping the dock looking good and organized,” Frye said. “These cross-functional shout-outs demonstrate how he has built trusted relationships throughout the office and production floor.”

Nathan’s ability to make the best of every situation and develop relationships across operations, logistics, and production inspires others on his team to tackle challenges with the same infectious positivity.

Solving Problems and Navigating Change

The Scout Motto is “Always be prepared,” which translates well to the Kris-Tech universe.

Nathan’s ability to quickly problem solve and tap into the strengths of those around him often leads to better results.

“During an unforeseen error, an order got mixed on the dock,” Frye explained. “The next morning as Nathan went through the paperwork, he caught the error and worked through multiple teams (Logistics, Sales, and Production) to correct it.”

Beyond his daily work, Nathan also fully invests in living the Kris-Tech Way. Recently, the team read Jon Gordon’s book, The Energy Bus. After learning about the concept of “living above the line” during a team meeting, Nathan asked for a copy of the book so he could apply the lessons to his own work.

Every day, his willingness to adapt, learn, and grow in his career encompasses everything living the Kris-Tech Way entails.
