Pet Fence Wire

Scope:

Single conductor or multiconductor copper or copper clad steel, high molecular weight polyethylene (HMWPE) insulated pet containment specialty wire (also known as pet fence wire). HMWPE is a rugged and durable material considered excellent for moisture and abrasion resistance. This product is suitable for continuous service in direct burial, wet and dry locations, 75°C. Designed for use in electric pet fence systems or underground pet containment systems. Versions available in 30 volt or 600 volt.

Applicable Standards and Tests:

ASTM B-1, B-3, B-8 for Copper conductors. ASTM D-1248 for Polyethylene. ICEA S-70-547, ICEA S-61-402/NEMA WC5 and ICEA S-95-658/NEMA WC70 for cable construction. UL 83, UL 1581 for tests and procedures. All products are spark tested at 7500 VAC unless otherwise specified.

Construction:

Conductors:

The single perimeter wire shall be solid or stranded, annealed or hard uncoated copper per UL83 and ASTM requirements. Multiconductor twisted shall be solid or stranded, annealed or hard uncoated copper per UL83 and ASTM requirements.

Insulation:

Concentrically applied HMWPE insulation in accordance with UL83. LLDPE is standard and HDPE is available upon request.

Identification and Packaging:

Custom and standard print legends are available. 500 ft/spl. 1000 ft/spl, or 2500 ft/spl spools are standard, packaged and labeled with product name, description, AWG, and manufacturer. Standard 2” Lay for twisted wire.Custom lengths, non-standard colors, Sunlight Resistance, AWG and custom packaging are available by request.
