MTW Wire/AWM/TEW

Scope:

Single conductor machine tool wire (MTW) with appliance wiring material (AWM) and with Thermoplastic Equipment Wire (TEW) – FT-1 is suitable for general purpose wiring, machine tools, and control cabinets and circuits.

Note:

VW-1 available where required.

Applicable Standards and Tests:

ASTM B-1, B-3, and B-8, B-33, UL 83, UL 758, UL 1063, UL1581, TEW-FT-1, NEC 310, NFPA 79, and CSA 22.2. All products are spark tested at 7500 VAC unless otherwise specified.

Construction:

Conductors:

The single conductors are stranded annealed, tin coated or bare copper.

Insulation:

Concentrically applied PVC (polyvinyl chloride) insulation rated at -25°C to 105°C, 600V for MTW and TEW, 1000V for AWM.

Identification and Packaging:

The wire shall be identified by surface marking indicating the manufacturer and AWG size. Products will be identified and surface printed in accordance with the UL and CSA requirements. 500 ft/spl.packed 4/box or 2500 feet/spl spools are standard. Custom lengths, non-standard colors, AWG and custom packaging are available by request.
