Copper tie wire is made using a single soft annealed, medium-hard, or hard temper conductor and insulated using high molecular weight polyethylene (HMWPE). It is direct burial rated, moisture and abrasion resistant, and suitable for wet and dry locations up to 75°C. Bare copper tie wire is also available.
May also be called copper utility wire, utility wire, or copper cable.
This product is primarily used to secure components used in overhead transmission and distribution lines to pin insulators on distribution or utility poles. Copper tie wire can also be used for grounding applications.
Concentrically applied HMWPE – LLDPE is standard, and HDPE is available upon request, sunlight resistant.
